Day 1: Friday - ROME
Arrival in Rome and transfer from the airport to the hotel, rest of the day at leisure.
Day 2: Saturday - ROME
American Buffet breakfast, enjoy Rome with a 24 hrs open bus ticket, overnight accommodation.
Day 3: Sunday - ROME-SORRENTO
American Buffet breakfast, and departure by coach to Naples and transfer to Sorrento, drop off at the hotel, welcome drink and meet your tour guide. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: Monday - CAPRI AND ANACAPRI
Breakfast in the hotel. Today is a highlight on the program: By boat you will arrive at magical
island of the sirens, which inspired and still inspires an endless number of artists. Visit of Anacapri with the possibility of the a visit at Villa San Michele. In Capri you can have a walk from the Piazza to the Gardens of August, which offer an unique view of the Faraglioni rocks and the rugged south cost of the island. In the afternoon free time to explore the beautiful island on your own. Possibility to visit the much-sung Blue Grotto (weather permitting). In the afternoon return to Sorrento.
Day 5: Tuesday - AMALFI OR NAPLES
Breakfast at hotel. Free day with the possibility of an optional excursion to Amalfi or Naples .
The Amalfi coast is one of the most spectacular coastlines of Europe. The winding road, surrounded by rocks, offers breathtaking panoramic views. You will get fantastic and unforgettable impressions. We stop in Positano, another jewel of this coast, for a photo stop. Then continue on to Amalfi, the town, after which the coast is named. Once it was a rich and powerful maritime republic and now it represents the major tourist resort. In the cathedral are kept the tombs of the saint patron of Amalfi and also of St. Andrew of Scotland. Continuation to Ravello with the possibility to visit Villa Rufolo.
Naples is a very charming and lively southern Italian port city on the Gulf of Naples. It is a unique location at the foot of Vesuvius. The mild climate, the rich history and numerous attractions have attracted tourists from all over the world since 18 Century. The heart of Naples is the old town, declared by the UNESCO to World Heritage, with its narrow streets which lead to mysterious churches, catacombs and caves. Between artisans, flapping laundry and screaming fish sellers still today the old Neapolitan folk culture is revaeled to its visitors.
Naples is dominated by the hill of Vomero with the impressive Castello S. Elmo, from where you can enjoy a magnificent view over the city, the Vesuvius and the sea. You should absolutely try the delicious pizza: After all, it was invented here! Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 6: Wednesday: POMPEI - SALERNO - MESSINA
Breakfast at hotel. Departure from the hotel towards Pompeii. Pompeii is for its visitors of the greatest fascination. After the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD, Pompeii lay buried and forgotten for centuries under the lava. The excavations, which already began in 18 th century, still go on today. Our guide will lead you through some of the ancient streets, where you can see Baths, Forums
and villas which were built by wealthy Romans in 80 BC. It is unbelievable how well the fabulous
frescoes that adorn the walls and floors of the villas have been preserved. Continuation to the port. Departure at about 14:00 o'clock to Sicily. Arrival at about 22:00 o'clock. Transfer to hotel, cold dinner and overnight. * seats reserved (armchair).
Day 7: Thursday - ETNA - TAORMINA
Half board in hotel. In the morning excursion to Mt. Etna, the high estpeak of Sicily and the most active volcano in Europe. The territory surrounding the vulcan constitutes the "Park of Etna", one of the largest protected areas in Italy: You will be astonished about the great variety of vegetation
and landscapes that we will meet along the way before arriving at the "Silvesti Craters" (about 1.900 mt). From here on you will have the option to continue the excursion by jeep. Stop at a local beekeeper to taste quality honey and to see how he is produced. In the afternoon visit of Taormina, situated on a rocky plateau on the slopes of the steeply dropping Monte Tauro, Possibility,
to visit the Greek-Roman theatre, the 2nd largest classical theatre in Sicily. Overnight.
Day 8: Friday - TAORMINA MARE - NOTO - SYRACUSE
Half board in Hotel. Full day excursion. First stop in Noto to discover the beautiful baroque in Sicily. On to Syracuse, one of the most interesting archaeological sites of the island. Guided tour at the Archaeological Park, the Roman Amphitheatre, the Greek Theatre, the Ear of Dionysus, the Cave of the Cordari, Island of Ortigia, the most ancient nucleus of the city with its stunning cathedral.
Dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Saturday- TAORMINA MARE
Breakfast at the Hotel and end of our services.
