Day 1: Innsbruck (D)
Upon arrival at Innsbruck airport you will be met and will receive a private transfer to the elegant Schlosshotel Igls, a castle set in a charming location with spectacular mountain views. You will be met on arrival with a welcome glass of champagne and a fresh fruit platter, before being taken to your suite. This afternoon your guide will take you on a romantic city walk where you will visit the most important landmarks in this picturesque Tyrolean town, stopping for a coffee break in the Old Town. This evening you can savour a seasonal 4-course meal with a bottle of wine in the hotel's tranquil mahogany-panelled restaurant.
Day 2: Innsbruck (B,L,D)
After breakfast in the Blue Saloon, you will be collected from the hotel by your guide for a full day tour of Innsbruck and the surrounding area. Amongst other sights, you will visit Schloss Ambras, a castle set in the hills above the town and historically important for its connections with Archduke Ferdinand II, the Bergisel, a hill south of Innsbruck where the Sill River meets the Inn Valley affording sensational views of the surrounding mountains, and the Swarovski Crystal World where you can experience the fascinating three-dimensional adventure museum. You will pause for a well-deserved lunch in a local restaurant and once your tour is complete you have the remainder of the afternoon at your leisure. You may wish to take advantage of some of the hotel's facilities such as the outdoor swimming pool, sauna or perhaps take a soothing massage. This evening you will be chauffeured to Alfred Miller's Michelin starred Schöneck restaurant where you will be treated to an exquisite 3-course evening meal.
Day 3: Innsbruck - Salzburg (B,D)
This morning you will be chaperoned to the Innsbruck train station where you can settle into your first class compartment for the scenic journey to Salzburg. On arrival in Mozart's attractive home city of Salzburg, you will be whisked off to the delightful Hotel Sacher in the very heart of the city on the banks of the River Salzach. After a welcome drink, you will be shown to your junior suite and your guide will provide you with a Salzburg Card, offering free use of public transportation and discounts on entrance fees. You will then be taken on a 2 hour walking tour of Salzburg and its UNESCO listed Old City, baroque churches and a guided tour of the world-renowned Festival House. Tonight you may choose to start the evening in style with a cocktail in the Piano Bar before enjoying a typically Austrian 3-course meal with wine in one of the hotel's excellent restaurants.
Day 4: Salzburg (B,L,D)
Today your guide will collect you from your hotel once you have enjoyed an exquisite breakfast buffet in the Roter Salon, looking out over magnificent views of the Old Town church spires. You will be treated to a half day tour focusing on Mozart; you will visit both the house of his birth and his final residence. You will then be driven in your private car to the city's southern limits where the splendid 16th-century Hellbrunn Palace is situated; the Royal country residence is famous for its mischievous hidden fountains, but don't worry, your guide will point them out to you. After lunch at a traditional local restaurant, the afternoon is at your leisure to perhaps visit one of the many museums for which Salzburg is renowned (your guide will be more than happy to offer advice on attractions to visit). This evening a 4-course meal will be served in an elegant restaurant, after which you might like to take a romantic night-time stroll around Salzburg.
Day 5: Salzburg (B,L,D)
After breakfast your guide will take you on a private tour of the picturesque Salzburg environs. Your excursion will include stops at scenic viewpoints at Salzkammergut, an enchanting lake and mountain landscape once frequented by Austrian emperors and noble families. You will pass through idyllic, romantic towns set on the lake edge with water so clear it is pure enough to drink. Lunch will be served at a regional restaurant, after which you will return to Salzburg for a leisurely afternoon to go shopping, have a relaxing massage or indulge in a slice of world famous Sacher-Torte (a chocolate cake for which the restaurant is celebrated). Tonight your guide will provide you tickets to a magical Mozart concert complete with a gourmet evening meal.
Day 6: Salzburg - Lake Fuschl (B,D)
This morning you will be chauffeur driven to the legendary fairytale castle of the Hotel Schloss Fuschl where on arrival you will be met with a welcome Drink and some delicious Schloss Fuschl cake before being escorted to your traditional suite. The hotel was made famous as the romantic location for the Sound of Music and has always been graced by aristocrats, royalty and film stars. The remainder of today is for you to relax and unwind; you can pamper yourselves at the hotel's intimate spa where 2 massages are complimentary. The hotel overlooks one of Austria's grandest lakes in which you can enjoy an invigorating swim, take a romantic boat ride or simply enjoy a nature walk around the shore. This evening you can enjoy a sumptuous 3-course meal at the hotel's Schloss restaurant, highly regarded for its freshly caught fish and regional Austrian delicacies. The castle's sommelier will be glad to select a bottle of wine for you from the extensive wine cellar.
Day 7: Lake Fuschl (B,L,D)
After breakfast on the terrace your guide will meet you for a classic "Old-timer Trip" during which you will learn much about the history surrounding the Kaiser Franz Josef & Kaiserin Sissi. The tour will visit the fashionable spa town of Bad Ischl which houses Kaiservilla, the summer residence and formal grounds belonging to Kaiser Franz Josef. This is where he signed the declaration of war against the Kingdom of Serbia which signaled the start of World War I. During the excursion you will pause for lunch and a coffee break, returning to Schloss Fuschl in the late afternoon. After a full day of sight-seeing, you may like to unwind with a cocktail at the stylish Jagerhof Lobby Bar before retiring to Restaurant Jagerhof for a fabulous 4-course meal with a bottle of wine.
Day 8: Lake Fuschl (B,D)
Today is set aside for your rest and relaxation. After taking a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, you can indulge in some complimentary spa treatments, relax on a sun-lounger on the jetty by the pool house or spend some time admiring the Schloss Fuschl art gallery. If you would prefer something a little more active, you may opt to play a round of golf at the nearby 18-hole championship course, go fishing on Lake Fuschl, join a class at the castle's cooking academy or go hiking in the breathtaking countryside. Dinner tonight will be a gala affair with a 6-course extravaganza being served at the hotel's Michelin starred Imperial Restaurant.
Day 9: Lake Fuschl - Vienna (B,L,D)
Your driver will collect you from the hotel this morning for the charming drive to Vienna where you will check in to the historic-modern Hotel Palais Coburg with welcome drinks and canapés. You will be shown to the Imperial suite and at your convenience your guide will meet you in the lobby to embark upon a walking tour around the remarkable centre of Vienna, visiting some of the city's most famous landmarks. The celebrated Restaurant Coburg offers modern, purist cuisine and you will be able to experience a 3-course evening meal here tonight before being chauffeured to the Vienna State Opera for a memorable performance at one of Europe's most famous opera houses.
Day 10: Vienna (B,L,D)
After breakfast you will be collected for a full day guided city tour. Historic Vienna has many attractions to offer tourists and your guide will take you to a selection including the impressive Schönbrunn Palace, a UNESCO listed site whose beautiful grounds house fountains, statues and a zoo. Your guide will take you to a local restaurant for a light lunch before continuing the tour. This evening you can enjoy a 4-course dinner with wine at an award winning Viennese restaurant.
Day 11: Vienna (B,L,D)
This morning your guide will drive you to the Vienna Woods, a protected wooded section of the Alps close to the city which is a favourite destination for outdoor pursuits. After lunch at a regional restaurant, the afternoon is at your leisure. You may want to do a spot of retail therapy, visit a museum, take a boat ride on the mighty Danube River, or perhaps take in a performance of either the Vienna Boys Choir or the Spanish Riding School (your guide will assist you with purchasing tickets). Your final night in Vienna will be spent enjoying a 4-course evening meal at a fine-dining restaurant, reminiscing over the trip's many highlights.

After breakfast you are at leisure until your private transfer to Vienna airport to connect with your international flight home.
